Pet Sit & Go is similar to other home exchange sites with one unique difference: all our members are pet lovers and/or pet guardians who want to travel economically and at the same time, keep their pets safe and happy.

There are several ways that you can enjoy a safe and cost-effective trip, either with or without your pet. You could enjoy a vacation with your pet in someone's home while they are staying in your home. Or perhaps you would prefer to have a PetSit & Go member stay in your home and look after your furry loved one (who can enjoy a stay-cation) while you look after their pet...check out the options below.

Once you join our community, you will have access to every member's contact information and you are entitled to make exchanges with other members as often as you like.

Benefits of membership

You connect with other pet lovers locally and globally in the following ways:

Standard Home and Pet Exchange: you are in each other's homes simultaneously, you look after their pet and they look after your pet. Weekend exchange: with or without your pet, usually close to home.

Pet Friendly: you bring your pet to their home, they have the option of taking their pet to your home

Non-simultaneous exchange: This is the same idea as home exchange but not at the same time. This often appeals to members swapping second homes who don't need to exchange at the same time. Non-simultaneous exchange provides you with greater flexibility on dates.

Exchange Hospitality and/or Hospitality: This allows you to host guests--and their pet-- in your home while you, and/or your pet is there and you exchange the guest's home at another time. However you choose to entertain (or not) is entirely up to the individuals involved—some members welcome the opportunity to be a tourist in their own home town, preparing meals for their guests.

Others may be at work during the week but can provide the use of a car and share the fridge. Others will fall somewhere in between—providing some meals and accompanying their guests on some outings while giving them time on their own too. Whatever you arrange before agreeing to an exchange, make sure it's mutual.

Offer to pet sit / Seeking pet sitter

This is when a member stays in your home and cares for your pet in return for a holiday base. This could be a good option if you want to tour the local area, or simply get away from it all by taking a mini-break. Or, if you've won or been given a trip that involves several nights accommodation out of town, or if you're involved in the making of a TV show, and you have to stay away from home for a few nights. These are just a few scenarios, there are many more.

Step by step

Once you've registered and described your home (including using up to 10 photos), the next step is to choose several listings. Once you've found a listing you're interested in, make initial contact by sending that member a brief e-mail or making a quick phone call, referring members to your home.

If the other party is interested in your home, the second step is to answer some detailed questions. We've made this easy for you just so we're all on the same page, please read our Petifesto and fill out your Member Profile and Pet Profile(s).

To avoid any misunderstandings, it's best to get everything out in the open at this point. Home and pet exchanges are based on mutual trust, so describe your pet(s) and home honestly.

Having exchanged emails and phone calls and find yourselves compatible, you've likely become friends and that's how it works. Who knows, maybe you'll vacation with your furry families together one day
